Who is Veekash Bhowruth
A Graduate from Leeds University with a Degree of Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Veekash Bhowruth started his career in the Brewing Industry in 2005.
He worked on several projects during his 2-year Graduate Scheme as well as gaining an understand of processes and engineering functions. He worked on projects which helped him increase his technical understanding, such as replacing a rice cooker heating coil, relocating a steam PRV in the brewhouse and reducing water usage on a bottling line conveyor lubrication system.
He progressed from the Graduate Scheme to become a Shift Brewing Manager where he gained firsthand experience of the brewing process and all services which enabled the process. Finally, he become an Engineering Maintenance Planning Manager where he was responsible for planning regular maintenance tasks and reactive works without impact the brewing process.
In 2009, he joined an Engineering Consultancy, starting out as a Junior Process Engineer. Having found a keen interest in HVAC, Veekash became the Lead Engineer for HVAC projects in the Pharma industry.
This broadened Veekash’s knowledge of all systems which provide services for HVAC, such as refrigeration, Steam, LTHW, Dehumidification & Humidification as well as a good understanding of fan control and room pressure regimes.
This understanding grew throughout his time at the Engineering Consultancy and Veekash became a Senior Engineer with a wide knowledge of industrial systems such as chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers and heat pumps.
Veekash worked mainly on Energy Reduction projects from developing the concept to completing the mechanical design to tender the project. As he progressed, Veekash became a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE in 2016.
After many years working in Engineering, Veekash Bhowruth was ready for his next venture and he set up Grationeer Ltd in May 2017. His ambition was and continues to be to provide professional engineering services to a wide range of clients and sectors to help them achieve their project deliverables.
Our first projects were delivered in the Life Science Sector, where bio-safety and virus containment were key elements to the delivery of the project. We have built a vast knowledge and experience of SAPO 4 systems and are well versed in safety studies such as SWIFT and HAZOP. We structure our approach around identifying and managing risk to ensure delivery of our projects on time, budget and at the right quality without breaching containment barriers systems or regulations. With these project being publicly funded, Grationeer Ltd are able to provide project delivery assurances to funders with their professional Project Manager reports and communications to the Project Board.
We have been able to apply our knowledge of risk management to other sectors, such as Information Technology where Datacentre outages have a significant commercial impact. We ensure that our projects do not impact datacentre availability. These projects required significant security measures to be in place for several external multi-disciplinary contractors due to the sensitivity of the datacentres and Grationeer Ltd were able to manage this process successfully.
Grationeer Ltd can also support clients at any stage in the project delivery process. We have been involved in Energy Reduction Concept Studies and have the knowledge and experience to develop the concept and determine the payback. We have also completed several mechanical design packages for heat pump scheme, steam and LTHW projects in the Leisure and Manufacturing Sectors.
Veekash Bhowruth is the Managing Director of Grationeer Ltd and is involved with all projects. As we have taken on larger projects, we have been able to deliver these as we have a trusted external resource pool which we can draw upon as and when needed. Our external resources share the same values as we do, and they have similar Engineering backgrounds to Veekash.
